Midnight Runners is a 3D product visualization project for a client’s footwear product. The scope involves modeling and texturing the shoes.

Challenge
The footwear’s mesh has a complex design which is impossible to recreate in a 3D software. The solution was to import the 3D model in Procreate and directly paint the textures. The painted textures were converted into normal and height maps which were then imported in Substance Painter to simulate the knitted look.

The client’s request was to model the insole and outsole separately so the visuals can show one of the the product’s unique feature, which is the shoe insert’s height boosting function.
