WHAT WE DID
Chibo is an okonomiyaki-teppanyaki restaurant that has been regarded as the best in Osaka. It recently opened its first branch in the Philippines.
We based the design of the interactive kiosk on the interior elements of the restaurant and menu booklet to create a unifying seamless experience.
Designing for a kiosk has some challenges as the experience is different from using a desktop or mobile device. Reach is a factor that we have taken into a consideration for the target users – from tall people to users in wheelchairs. The menu buttons should be within arms reach and the video strategically placed on top within the angle of vision of a standing person.
Familiarity is they key to make user experience effective for the users. Simple actions like touch and swipe are used to make navigation easy and friendly for users. We minimized the number of steps to navigate on every page. Important elements like the buttons should be large enough for easy tapping and legible text for easy reading.
